Riediteremo quindi completamente quanto segue, tenendo conto dei commenti ricevuti e senza più segnalare ogni singola correzione alle nostre affermazioni, se no vien fuori un carnaio proprio quando ci vuole massima chiarezza.]

Come auspicavamo, ci è stata gentilmente fornita la registrazione dell’intervento. Speriamo che, con tante possibilità a disposizione (come i video su FB o La Voce di Arda, che ha recentemente trasmesso un intervento della traduttrice Costanza Bonelli e venerdì 13 intervisterà Kelopoeta, e conserva tutte le sue puntate per rendere disponibile la consultazione a tutti), sia sempre più prassi comune fornire la vera voce degli intervistati, soprattutto nel clima ostile e sospettoso di questi mesi.

L’articolo della Gazzetta di Modena qui sopra pubblicizza l’incontro. Vale la pena di analizzarlo, perché si aggiunge a quella serie di motivi per cui una parte dei tolkieniani è furibonda con la traduzione Fatica e i suoi sostenitori. L’articolo non è facilmente leggibile, ma se visualizzate l’immagine, la scaricate e l’ingrandite, si capisce.

Fonti Primarie 4: Fatica in parole sue

[Edit 3/03: ebbene sì, di nuovo; la formattazione di questo articolo fa schifo e ci sono un paio di frecciatine sopra le righe che si possono evitare quando si tratta di argomenti così importanti.]

Il nome di Ottavio Fatica ci era completamente sconosciuto prima di quel fatale agosto 2019. Ma anche adesso, dopo averlo visto denigrato o esaltato, senza via di mezzo, spesso aprioristicamente, rimane una figura misteriosa.

Della sua vita personale si sa pochissimo, ed è giusto che voglia mantenere la privacy; non si sa neppure la sua età, gliene daremmo una cinquantina, bell’uomo, con un raro sorriso luminoso. Non avrebbe importanza, se non che il modo in cui uno si pone (non si tinge i capelli grigi, per fare un esempio banale) suscita inevitabilmente una reazione, e Fatica ha tutte le carte in regola per fare buona impressione a prima vista.

Non sappiamo nulla dei suoi titoli di studio, non per snobismo ma per poterci rivolgere a lui in modo adeguato. E’ di Perugia, città ricca di incanto, i cui abitanti hanno un accento gradevolissimo, che purtroppo non si trasmette nell’unico video che possediamo. (Non osiamo pensare a come suona l’accento milanese di alcuni di noi, ci consenta.)

Ma è parco di commenti sull’argomento che lo ha portato, nel bene o nel male, agli onori della cronaca.
